What are the submission guidelines?
All submissions should, of course, be mindful of our journal’s mission statement: we are looking for short, dynamic writing and visual art that appeals to the spirit of our publication. Our specific length/image quality requirements are as follows:
- Fiction & Nonfiction of two double-spaced pages or fewer
- Poetry of sixteen lines or fewer
- Visual Art submissions should be high-resolution
When is the deadline for submissions?
Our spring submission deadline is March 30th, 2012.
Can In Bantam pay to publish my submission?
Unfortunately, we can’t. In Bantam is a student-run literary journal with no budget: we hope that the incentive of publication is enough.
Am I allowed to submit work that has been published elsewhere?
No: part of our mission as a journal is to publish work that has not been showcased elsewhere.
How about multiple submissions?
Yes! Please feel free to submit multiple pieces for publication. If you would like to submit multiple pieces and are using the ‘Submit’ form on our website, you will have to attach each entry separately.
